Border Invasion at Historic High As Officials Warn Hamas, Hezbollah Terrorists Are Invading US

Oct 31, 2023

Southern border crossings reached a historic high with over 2.47 million illegal immigrants, the most apprehensions on record, detected in this past year alone (FY2023). Illegal border crossings have increased each year Joe Biden has occupied the White House.

The invasion at America’s southern border opens the door to terrorism with at least 169 of the individuals apprehended on the terror watch list. This is compared to 98 apprehended on the terror watchlist in FY2022, 15 in FY 2021, and just 3 in FY2020.

Federal officials are now warning in an internal memo that terrorists from Hamas, Hezbollah, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad could be entering the United States through the southern border, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“San Diego Field Office Intelligence Unit [of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection] assesses that individuals inspired by, or reacting to the current Israel-Hamas conflict may attempt travel to or from the area of hostilities in the Middle East via circuitous transit across the Southwest border,” the memo states. "Foreign fighters motivated by ideology or mercenary soldiers of fortune may attempt to obfuscate travel to or from the US to or from countries in the Middle East through Mexico.”

In September, there were 269,235 migrant encounters at the southern border, an 18.5% increase from last September and the highest single month of border apprehensions since the government began keeping these records in 1960.

There have also been at least 1.7 million known “gotaways,” or migrants that evaded border apprehension, since the start of the Biden administration. In October alone, over 23,000 known “gotaways” (roughly 1,000 per day) crossed the border undetected by agents, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources told Fox News.

This is likely only a fraction of the total number of illegal immigrants entering the United States because many illegal border crossers enter the country undetected as border agents are overwhelmed by the immigration surge.

"In response to high rates of encounters across the southwest border in September, CBP surged resources and personnel,” said Troy A. Miller, senior official performing the duties of the CBP commissioner, in a statement. “We are continually engaging with domestic and foreign partners to address historic hemispheric migration, including large migrant groups traveling on freight trains, and to enforce consequences including by preparing for direct repatriations to Venezuela.”
