While there is a major crisis ready to ignite on our southern border, Democrats are just fiddling around. Dozens of Democratic legislators traveled to Puerto Rico with lobbyists to wine and dine during the shutdown. Meanwhile, government employees work without pay. - Mat
Democrats’ recent trip included a charter jet, a sea-side destination resort, theatre, fine dining, and San Juan's famous beaches. Some congressional family members were included in the trip with more than 100 lobbyists.
It sounds like the old saying, “Nero fiddled while Rome burned.”
Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders pointed out, “Democrats in Congress are so alarmed about federal workers not getting paid they’re partying on the beach instead of negotiating a compromise to reopen the government and secure the border.”
The event boasted it was the “largest contingency of House Democrats to visit Puerto Rico.” There were plans for 39 congressional Democrats to attend though perhaps a few didn’t make it. About 30 congressional Democrats actually attended. A partial list even showed Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as attending, though her office claims she did not make the trip.
In stark contrast, President Donald Trump faithfully continues his work in the White House and on the southern border. He comforts the grieving families of victims of illegal immigrants and he encourages our law enforcement officials who put their lives on the line to protect us.
Let’s make our voices heard in this battle for the safety of our citizens and our future security. Sign our petition to President Trump to continue the fight for boarder security!
