HR 5 would destroy the freedom of every single employer, even religious ones. Because of the strong threat of lawsuit, this legislation would go beyond forcing religious groups to hire cross-dressing and gender confused individuals. In practice, HR 5 would cause them to prefer individuals involved in such behavior to avoid litigation. Even for sensitive positions such as raising children, assisting grieving families in a funeral home, or providing counseling to troubled youth, those involved in LGBT conduct would have complete access and even priority over the other employees.

This bill has no religious exemption. It completely disregards the mission of the organization, business, ministry, church, home business, or even a service that is offered through the internet.

HR 5 would change the legal landscape of our nation significantly! Courts established to protect people of faith, would be flipped into instruments of punishment against innocent people of faith. Even before they could demonstrate their innocence to a judge, Christians could be tried and convicted. Any employers found "guilty" under this anti-religious law could be forced to hand their entire life-savings over to a stranger because they refused to sacrifice the principles of their faith.

That would not be the America envisioned and built by our Founding Fathers! Rather, it would reward Russian-styled KGB informants with extensive "damages"awarded through lawsuits against people of faith. Help Liberty Counsel Action stop this bill in its tracks!

Right now, there are 47 U.S. Senators who are co-sponsoring the Senate's version of this bill (S. 788). So, HR 5 is only a few votes short of having a majority in both legislative bodies. But Liberty Counsel Action is building a firewall in the Senate. Our staff in Washington, D.C. is carefully building relationships with, and educating, our national legislators.
