Advancing Life and Liberty Through Action

Tearing Down the Shower Curtain

Apr 3, 2019

Yesterday, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee heard hours of testimony about HR 5. A focal point in these conversations was how this bill is a direct assault on the safety, privacy, and athletic talent of women and girls across America. However, one of the most frustrating aspects of yesterday was that, except for Rep. Matt Gaetz, the committee nearly ignored the horrific religious freedom violations in this bill.

Liberty Counsel Action had staff in the committee room, praying and preparing. We will not be silenced against this devastating bill! We have a plan to stop HR 5. Sign our petition against HR 5 today, if you haven't already, and keep reading to see how this bill will destroy hard-earned protections for women across America. -Mat

HR 5 will give biological men access to everything from women's sports trophies and educational scholarships to their bathrooms, showers, and sleeping arrangements. When Target opened up their bathrooms to both genders, there was a significant uptick in the number of perverts coming in to their stores to prey on innocent women and children.

Yesterday's testimony glossed over, and flat out lied about the fact that we already know of nearly 80 instances of abuse or attempted abuse in these and similar situations, and the vast majority of these types of situations are not reported. We don't know who the next victim will be. I deeply hope it is not someone you love... a grandchild, a wife, a daughter, or maybe even you.

But now Democrats are trying to push this same policy nationwide. This will absolutely lead to more women being assaulted and violated. We need to stand up and prevent this abuse! Don't panic; do get involved.

Liberty Counsel Action is leading the charge to fight against HR 5 and these unthinkable consequences. We have been a consistent voice on Capitol Hill giving legislators facts and personal stories of the harm that would come about from HR 5. Would you consider supporting our efforts to continue the fight against this outrageous legislation?

+ + + Different in thousands of ways

Men are inherently biologically different than women. They build muscle more easily, and have more fast-twitch muscles, larger lungs and hearts, denser bones, and usually better depth perception - all of which place female contestants at a significant disadvantage in sports.

One study found "6,500 genes with activity that was biased toward one sex or the other in at least one tissue." There are not two or three differences, but literally thousands of differences, between men and women at a basic genetic level.

No law can erase that. No drug can eliminate it. But HR 5 is trying to ignore it.

When you allow biological men to compete in women's sports, they dominate, taking scholarships and giving injuries. Women on testosterone have an unfair advantage as well.
  • MMA fighter Fallon Fox was born male but went through transition surgery at age 31. Ex-Navy Fox gave his female opponent a concussion and broke her eye socket. Tamikka Brents needed seven stitches less than three minutes into the match. Tamikka said the next day, "I've fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night... I can only say, I've never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female..."
  • At California's Mission College, Gabrielle Ludwig, who was born male, joined the women's basketball team. Ludwig is 6 feet, 6 inches tall. And, despite being 52 years old, still scores the most points for the team. In addition, Ludwig has the top rebound numbers in the whole state. Ludwig states, "I have to work to keep this spot," but fails to see that a college girl can't play because Ludwig is on the team, taking those shots instead of her.
  • In Connecticut, high school students Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood were both born male but now compete in the girl's track and field. They took the top two spots at the 55-meter dash this year and last year did the same at the state outdoor championships for 100-meters. Yearwood is reported to have received recruitment "interest" from Harvard, UConn, and Penn University.
  • Texas wrestler Mackenzie "Mack" Beggs was born female but took enough testosterone every week to cause a "wispy" mustache. Beggs was undefeated as a junior and senior and took the girls state championship gold medal. Beggs defeated Kayla Fitts, along with her 52-0 record, to win back-to-back state titles. Last year, Beggs was offered a non-Division I scholarship.
  • Cyclist Jillian Bearden, a 36-year-old biological male and Colorado Springs native, won the women's division of the El Tour de Tucson in four hours and 26 minutes in November 2016. Bearden's teammate mentioned that the organization's "code of conduct" demands they accept and support transgenders.
  • Weightlifter Laurel Hubbard lived as a man for more than 30 years, during which time he competed nationally and set junior weightlifting records. Then after transitioning, Hubbard entered women's weightlifting and in 2017 took the gold medal at the Australian International & Australian Open in Melbourne. There is talk about Hubbard going for the women's weightlifting at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
  • And there are dozens of other examples...
You can help Liberty Counsel Action stop this from spreading nationwide. If you haven't already signed our petition, do it. Then share it with others. And support Liberty Counsel Action to fight for the rights of women and so many others who will be hurt by this bill.

P.S. HR 5 will have catastrophic impact on the ability of women to be on a team and to have their accomplishments recognized. It will also erase their ability to change, shower, or even more, in peace. HR 5 must never be enacted! Join us by adding your name to Liberty Counsel Action's petition, if you still need to.
