96% of Mass Violence Happens Here...

Jun 10, 2022

Wednesday night the U.S. House passed a sweeping gun restriction package. But history confirms gun restrictions do not stop mass shootings. One study found that between 1950 and May 2022, 96% of mass shootings happened in gun-free zones. In addition to mass shootings in gun-free zones, other studies show these shooters are frequently under the influence of prescription drugs. If Congress really wants to address mass shootings, lawmakers must remove most gun-free zones, reform mental health and prescription medications, and teach Judeo-Christian values again.

The House bill will do nothing to stop mass shootings. In fact, it will exacerbate them. We must stop this bill in the Senate and stop the Senate from presenting its own version.

Just look at Chicago, New York or Washington, D.C., if you think gun restrictions are the answer. Send an urgent message today to Congress to block these disarmament bills. —Mat

Democrats (and a few Republicans) are working on a “compromise” to claw away your Second Amendment freedom. This is more difficult to stop than an extremely radical bill that generates opposition.

Here’s what is in the sweeping House bill HR 7910:

  • Bans “large-capacity magazines,” which the bill defines as anything that holds more than 10 rounds. Even some concealed carry pistols, like the Sig Sauer P365 and the Ruger Security-9, have larger capacities than this limit allows.
  • Mandates all firearms be traceable and expands the prohibition on “ghost guns,” which are firearms built from purchased parts.
  • Increases the age requirement to purchase certain guns to 21. This means someone can join the military and die for our nation or get married and have children but cannot own certain guns.
  • Requires registration to transfer a gun to a family member.
  • And much more.

Republican Senators Lindsey Graham (SC), John Cornyn (TX) and Thom Tillis (NC) are waffling and negotiating a compromise with the Democrats!

Fax members of Congress to stand against political manipulation and protect our constitutional rights.

The bill offers 100 million dollars in grants over the next decade (and beyond if not used up) for gun storage. While there is broad support for storing guns safely, the bill demands a list of everyone who receives this grant money.

While the bill claims it will not include “personally identifying information,” at the same time it demands a “list of grant recipients” be presented to the U.S. attorney general who, in turn, gives this information to Congress (Sec. 3062 (c) of HR 7910).

Can you imagine Congress having a detailed database of where 100 million dollars of gun safes or locks are located? This would be the best place for a tyrant to look to eventually confiscate guns. This bill is a thinly veiled plan to add information to a national registry and a back-door path to gather information on the location of guns across the nation. And you’ll be paying 100 million in tax dollars for this plan … if this bill passes the Senate.

These politicians want to use your tax dollars to get one step closer to grabbing your guns. Tell Congress in no uncertain terms to leave our constitutional freedoms ALONE.

Last month, a West Virginia woman with a concealed carry stopped a shooter after he began firing into a crowd at a party. Thanks to this woman, no one at the party except the shooter was injured. “Instead of running from the threat, she engaged with the threat and saved several lives last night,” Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett told the media.

The shooter in Buffalo, NY, chose the location because of the gun restrictions in place. In his manifesto, he described his “strategy” for selecting the target. “Attacking in a weapon-restricted area may decrease the chance of civilian backlash. Schools, courts, or areas where CCW [concealed carry weapons] are outlawed or prohibited may be good areas of attack. Areas where CCW permits are low may also fit in this category. Areas with strict gun laws are also great places of attack.”

The shooter at an El Paso Walmart in 2019 wrote: “Remember: it is not cowardly to pick low hanging fruit. AKA Don’t attack heavily guarded areas to fulfill your super soldier COD fantasy. Attack low security targets. Even though you might out gun a security guard or policeman, they likely beat you in armor, training and numbers. Do not throw away your life on an unnecessarily dangerous target. If a target seems too hot, live to fight another day.”

Police officers cannot be everywhere. Armed citizens have the best protection against individuals intending to harm them.

When the government starts to pick and choose who can own a gun, this puts the lives of law-abiding people at risk. Our Constitution clearly states that gun ownership is a right, not a revocable privilege. Help me remind our leaders of this by sending an urgent fax.

Send this message today to Congress with an urgent fax to stop attacks on our Second Amendment now.
