Advancing Life and Liberty Through Action

Once highly regarded, the Pulitzer Prize recently came off the rails.
ProPublica wrote a story riddled with lies and twisted facts claiming 28-year-old Amber Thurman was forced by Georgia’s heartbeat law to take abortion pills. The article claimed — without evidence — that Georgia’s pro-life laws caused her death. A critical fact intentionally overlooked is the real cause of her death.
Complications from the abortion pills killed Amber. If Amber would’ve followed the heartbeat law and let her twins live, she would be alive today.
Meanwhile some members of Congress are fighting for Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers to keep getting hundreds of millions of our tax dollars.
Planned Parenthood and abortion providers lie to women like Amber about the abortion pill, mifepristone. They tell these women to hide that they were trying to have an abortion when they have complications and go to the ER. All the while, we are paying for this medical misinformation and harm to women and children through our tax dollars.
We can end this cycle of abuse and violence. Tell Congress to defund ANY organization that provides abortions.
Thurman was on her way to an abortion clinic in North Carolina when she was delayed by traffic and missed her appointment, so the staff improvised and gave her an abortion pill. Then she took the four-hour drive home.
Women like Thurman are completely unprepared for what this pill does to them. About four days after she took it:
Thurman vomited blood and passed out at home, according to 911 call logs. Her boyfriend called for an ambulance. Thurman arrived at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge at 6:51 p.m. ... Her lower abdomen was tender, according to the summary. Her white blood cell count was critically high and her blood pressure perilously low — at one point, as Thurman got up to go to the bathroom, she fainted again and hit her head. Doctors noted a foul odor during a pelvic exam, and an ultrasound showed possible tissue in her uterus.
Amber did not realize she was carrying twins. After expelling some of the babies, human remains in her uterus caused sepsis.
The hospital tried antibiotics, IVs, and surgery, but in the end, couldn’t save her life. The reality is that had Amber not taken the abortion pill, she would be alive today. This is directly the fault of these big abortion providers.
Urge Congress to investigate this dangerous drug and then ban interstate commerce of deadly drugs that cross state lines.
The abortion cocktail that killed Amber is so dangerous that for 20 years, the FDA required (1) that a doctor administer the death-dealing drugs in person, (2) that the drugs not be given to women who are more than 7 weeks pregnant, and (3) that an in-person physical examination occur after taking the pills to ensure that the drugs had not burst the woman’s fallopian tubes, all hemorrhaging had stopped, and the dead baby had left the mother’s womb without infection.
But the FDA waived the in-person dispensation requirements, allowing abortionists to mail the deadly drugs to women — even in pro-life states where abortion is restricted. If these requirements were still in place, Amber would be alive.
RU-486, otherwise known as mifepristone, has a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warning for serious adverse reactions that include toxicity/overdose, ruptured fallopian tubes, hemorrhage, and more. From September 2000 to February 2019, this caused Adverse Event Reports (AERs) among 3,197 women, of whom 2,506 had either life-threatening or severe complications — including death. In addition, 2,243 women who did not die of RU-486’s adverse events required surgery to save their life and fertility.
Tell Congress to STOP FUNDING PLANNED PARENTHOOD AND BIG ABORTION.
Our team is facing some resistance on life issues, even from some members of the Republican Party. We are fighting to defund Planned Parenthood through budget reconciliation, restrict deadly drugs, stop the mailing of abortion-inducing drugs across state lines, and so much more.
We are working to hold their feet to the fire. We need your help to flood congressional desks with demands to protect life.
If we lose this battle, children will die in the most horrific ways. Women will be harmed, and some will die. Their murderers will enrich themselves off these deaths. Give your best possible gift today to impact the future of our nation.
We will NEVER give up. Help today to provide the resources we need to fight and win these key battles.
