The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee will be holding — not one or two — but three hearings on various aspects of President Trump’s “Big Beautiful” budget bill.

Appropriations may be one of the toughest committees to get Defunding Big Abortion language through and, at the same time, the most important one. In this committee, the top three highest-ranking Republicans are Senators Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, and Lisa Murkowski. Both of the women are known as being pro-abortion.

And a huge part of that decision is, if they make changes, what those changes would be to the defunding language. Whatever they decide could massively impact this bill even before it hits the Senate floor.

Some Republicans — the very ones who campaigned on “pro-life” promises — are considering letting this moment slip away. They’re trying to push social issues aside.

They say, “Let’s wait until after the mid-term election ...”

They say, “Now isn’t the time ...”
