One or Two Votes Could Decide Abortion Funding
Congress is walking on the razor’s edge.
This week, the Senate is clearing its calendar for the final debate over the “Big Beautiful Bill.” The results of this debate will determine if Planned Parenthood will receive 15 billion dollars over the next 10 years — or receive nothing.
The Senate will come down to just one or maybe two votes.
If the defunding provision clears the Senate, it will return to the House, where Speaker Mike Johnson can only afford to lose three votes. And two Republicans have already voted no, saying this budget doesn’t cut enough spending. Two additional Republicans are now complaining about the bill for opposite reasons — that it cuts too much.
Those four votes alone could bring the entire budget to a halt.
One bad amendment. One backroom deal. One compromise — and Biden’s abortion funding through Medicaid and Title X could be locked in for some time.
That’s why your voice matters more than ever.
Fax Congress now and demand a CLEAN budget that fully DEFUNDS Big Abortion.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), a member of the House Freedom Caucus, said: “The bill won’t move through the House as it is. You have a significant problem with respect to deficits … on Medicaid, even though it maybe made a slight move in the right direction.” For Rep. Roy and others, this bill doesn’t cut nearly enough.
On the opposite side, Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), elected as a Democrat and switched to Republican in 2020, attacked this bill for reducing taxpayer-funded Medicaid. “This is political stupidity; it’s political suicide. Why would you hurt these people?”
This split reveals the challenge — and the danger.
If Republicans don’t pass this new budget, then we are stuck with the old budget from Biden that continues to fund abortion.
This is a life-and-death battle over what your tax dollars will fund and the future of our nation. Every dollar flowing to Big Abortion helps pay for their buildings, salaries, equipment, infrastructure, and everything necessary to make their deadly businesses possible.
Right now, the Senate is in the final stages of the budget that will decide the future of Planned Parenthood and other Big Abortion providers.
This is the most significant moment we’ve had in years.
But the outcome is not guaranteed.
In fact, we are just one or two Senate votes away from losing everything.
Send your urgent faxes to Congress demanding a budget that DEFUNDS Big Abortion.
We have one shot to get abortion OUT of our federal budget. Planned Parenthood alone receives nearly 800 million dollars a year (and growing), with 56% of its clients funded by Medicaid or Title X programs.
We’re talking about funding an abortion empire — buildings, equipment, utilities, management, public relations, lobbying, and more.
It’s time to cut off every cent.
Send your fax right now. Tell the Senate to fully DEFUND Big Abortion in the final budget.
Liberty Counsel Action is fighting for this defunding language to stay in the final bill. We are inside the halls of Congress, engaged in strategy calls, and working to keep lawmakers accountable.
But the abortion lobby is pressuring moderates hard — and the next few days may decide everything.
Please stand with us in this battle. Help fund this fight with a special gift today. A Challenge Grant will DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT.
Scripture says: “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land ... ” (Ezek. 22:30). I pray that you will fill the gap in our nation.
