There is a nationwide groundswell for voter ID and proof of citizenship. Poll after poll shows Americans overwhelmingly support basic election safeguards. But public opinion means nothing if it never reaches the ears of those in Congress.

Democrats claim photo ID is “voter suppression.” Yet House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) asked the obvious question: Why aren’t they screaming about photo IDs at airports? Why aren’t they screaming about photo IDs when you check out a book at a library?

When you check into a hotel and provide photo ID, no one calls it racist. When you enter a federal building, no one protests. No one screams “racism” when you open or close a bank account.

Security matters, and nowhere does it matter more than at the ballot box.

The SAVE America Act would require voters to present a photo ID to cast a ballot in any federal election. The bill’s text requires that identification must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.

This is an all-hands-on-deck moment. The SAVE America Act recently passed the House and is waiting on a vote in the Senate. This vote could happen at any moment. Urge every senator to support and pass the SAVE America Act immediately.

Rep. Emmer pointed out that photo IDs were required to enter the Democratic National Convention.

Some Democrats attending that convention told reporters that voter ID laws “should be fine.” One attendee said, “We want to ensure elections are free and fair. There must be an element of security in everything we do in life.”

Security for airports. Security for hotels. Security for conventions. But suddenly no security for our elections? That is not logical. That is political theater.

FAX THE SENATORS NOW AND URGE THEM TO SUPPORT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE AND PASS THIS BILL.

Even if a majority of Americans support voter ID, if we stay silent, our opinion will not matter.

Each legislator weighs contact from a voter as much more than one voter. Some weigh a single voter contact as much as representing between 50 and 100 voters. Your faxes cut through congressional staff filters. They land on desks. They are counted and noticed. Sometimes members of Congress have called to ask us to stop the faxes because they cannot get anything done. We tell them we will stop when they pledge to vote correctly.

One Democrat member of Congress personally supported the Born Alive Act but refused to sign on to be a co-sponsor. He called and we told him we will stop faxing when he acts. He left the Democrat Party, became a Republican member of the House, and immediately co-sponsored the bill. True story!

Our nation is sitting at a crossroads, and your decision to speak up or stay silent has major implications. Flood the Senate with faxes NOW to pass the Save America Act.
