The path is clear. The timeline is clear. The only thing missing now is the will to act. That’s where you come in.

Senate leaders have repeatedly claimed there simply aren’t enough votes to overcome the 60-vote filibuster rule to pass the Save America Act. That excuse is now gone as demonstrated with the Homeland Security bill.

A talking filibuster is where a senator holds the floor, speaking continuously to block a vote on legislation. The senator must remain standing and debating to keep the floor, delaying the bill until exhausted or 60 votes (cloture) are gathered to end the debate.

For the Homeland Security bill, it only took five hours to exhaust the Democrat senator. Once the senator is exhausted, the full Senate can vote. And we clearly have a majority to pass this bill.

The truth is simple: if a filibuster can be overcome in hours, then the SAVE America Act can be brought forward now.

We can stop fraudulent elections.

Time is running out. We are barreling toward critical elections. If we truly care about the future of this nation under God, we must clean up our elections now — while there is still time for implementation and enforcement to all happen before voter registration and early voting deadlines begin.

Our lax standards have made America an international embarrassment. Without urgent action, our elections will not be secure.

It is critical to act now. Your voice is desperately needed on Capitol Hill to push this bill forward.

A valid ID, driver’s license, or other accepted photo ID that requires proof of citizenship is more than sufficient. Americans already provide documentation for far less consequential matters. It is time we show our elections the honor and seriousness they deserve.

Think about it: You must show identification to do almost anything important in modern life. You need ID to:

• Drive a car.

• Check into a hotel.

• Pick up a registered package at the Post Office.

• Obtain a library card.

• Purchase medicines.

• Enter a federal courthouse.

• And much more.

Why then do we treat the sacred act of voting — the very foundation of our republic — with far less care and respect than these ordinary activities? It makes no sense. Voting deserves the highest level of integrity, not the lowest.

The SAVE America Act has been sitting on Senate Majority Leader Thune’s desk for more than a year. The old excuses are no longer valid.
