CBDC sneaks into housing bill

Congress was moving forward with an affordable housing bill when it suddenly decided to insert language into it that would allow for a government-run programmable digital currency.

It is language that could pave the way for the federal government to impose a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) on Americans beginning in 2031.

This is a dirty trick that directly opposes a House-passed CBDC ban. And they hoped we didn’t notice, but let’s prove them wrong. We are urging you to act now.

And now Congress needs to hear that you reject Communist China-style financial surveillance disguised as “housing” policy. Tell Congress to VOTE YES on HR 1919 and S 1124 to permanently block radical government programmable money and protect Americans’ financial privacy.

A government-controlled CBDC could give federal officials the ability to trace, monitor and potentially control how you can use your own money.

This is NOT merely about replacing paper dollars with a convenient digital version.

It is about whether the government should ever possess the power to watch every purchase, restrict lawful transactions or cut citizens off from their own funds.

We must stop this scheme before it advances any further.

There was no flashing warning sign about this in the news media; nor was there honest debate in committees over whether Washington should gain unprecedented power over the money in your bank account.

And no standalone bill just a few short paragraphs buried in hundreds of pages.

Now it’s time to let the House and Senate know we WILL NOT tolerate their dirty tricks to impose Communist China-style financial surveillance CBDCs on Americans!

Fax Congress Now: Tell them NO CBDCs, not now, not EVER!

Earlier this year, the U.S. House passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. It was a clean bill intended to increase affordable housing. The Senate responded by passing the bill, but the Senate version smuggled in SUBSTANTIAL changes buried deep in the bill.

The Senate bill added Section 1001, which is a provision that opens the door to CBDCs — digital currency controlled by a central bank.

Some in the Senate claim the Section 1001 is a “ban” on CBDCs, but that is simply not true. Instead, Section 1001 simply delays the implementation of a CBDC until December 31, 2030 ... and completely ignores the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act the House passed late last year that permanently bans CBDCs!

Fax Congress now. Tell lawmakers: NO CBDCs — not now, not after 2030, not ever!

As you know, CBDCs are the single biggest threat to our freedom. Implementation of a CBDC means that the federal government can spy on and control every cent of your earning and spending.

• Communist China already uses CBDCs to control and punish citizens.  People who the government believes have used too much health care or gasoline are prevented from buying more, no matter how much money they have in the bank. And people who disagree with the government are cut off from their own hard-earned money.

• The European Central Bank (ECB) has proposed setting balance limits to prevent people from saving too much of their own money.

• ECB President Christine LaGarde believes it “could be dangerous” if the Central Bank were not able to spy on and “control” even the smallest consumer purchases.

• Dutch central bank President Klaas Knot announced that in addition to LaGarde’s proposal, the governments should also be able to control how much money citizens will be allowed to have, hold and use — all while spying on every single transaction.

We cannot allow the U.S. government to EVER force a CBDC on freedom-loving Americans.

Time is short. The House and Senate are already conferencing the housing bill. We must STOP the CBDC effort buried in that bill before it becomes law!
