Tell Congress to get the job done
Should our elections be decided by verified American citizens? If you say yes, then tell the Senate to bring the SAVE America Act directly to the floor and keep the focus on it. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) railed against his colleagues over their refusal to finish the job from the Senate floor:
We don’t have a lack of time; we have a lack of spine. Don’t ever confuse lack of time with lack of spine because they're two very different things. ... We've got time. We're just choosing not to use it. We're choosing to use it differently and, I would add, very poorly if we don’t take this up. Take it up now and stay on the bill until it darn well passes.
The House already passed the stand-alone SAVE America Act. The bill requiring proof of citizenship to register and voter identification in federal elections is already before the Senate.
Senators can bring it directly to the floor, debate it in full public view, and force every member to explain on national TV why they refuse to protect our elections. That is the path forward.
Flood Congress with your faxes now. Demand a direct vote on the full SAVE America Act — and demand that senators focus on this bill.
Despite not acting on this must-pass measure, the Senate is heading off for vacation in two weeks. But four senators have stepped up and committed to working until this bill is passed: Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT), Rick Scott (R-FL), Jim Banks (R-IN), and Ashley Moody (R-FL).
Congress is now attempting to pass portions of the SAVE America Act through budget legislation — a complicated procedural gamble that would make the SAVE America Act's directives optional rather than make universal voter security safeguards mandatory in all states.
Instead of passing it piecemeal, the SAVE America Act deserves its own debate and its own vote.
The legislation is not complicated. It would require documentary proof of citizenship when registering to vote and a valid photo ID when voting in federal elections. It addresses a foundational principle that should transcend party politics: American citizens alone should determine the leadership and direction of the United States.
The Senate has already spent months talking about that commonsense principle. Now senators must vote on it and keep voting on it until it passes.
Congress must safeguard our nation. Flood the Senate with your faxes demanding the Senate act now to pass the Save America Act and secure our elections.
Identification is routinely required to board an airplane, enter secure buildings, obtain certain government services, and conduct countless ordinary transactions. Photo identification was even required to enter the Democratic National Convention.
In fact, convention attendees acknowledged to reporters that voter identification “should be fine.” As one attendee explained, “We want to ensure elections are free and fair. There must be an element of security in everything we do in life.”
Security for airports. For hotels. For Democrat conventions. But not for the election that determines who controls the most powerful government in the world?
That makes no sense.
The overwhelming majority of Americans understand that proof of identity protects legitimate voters. Requiring proof of citizenship at registration protects the sacred distinction between citizens — who possess the right to choose America’s government — and everyone else.
Congress should not treat that principle as merely one line item in a massive budget negotiation. It should pass election integrity directly into law in toto.
Fax Congress now. Demand that they bring the full SAVE America Act to the floor, hold a public debate, and conduct recorded votes before another election passes under the same vulnerabilities.
It will take sustained pressure, rapid response, and a determined national effort to keep lawmakers from retreating from the SAVE America Act.
Your gift today helps Liberty Counsel Action mobilize citizens, educate Congress, launch urgent fax campaigns, and keep this fight in front of lawmakers until proof of citizenship and voter identification are secured in federal law.
And please consider setting up a recurring donation to Liberty Counsel Action. Every dollar strengthens our ability to confront delay, expose political games, and rally Americans at the exact moment their voices are needed most. The path has opened, but the victory is not yet won. This is our moment to press forward with courage and to finish the work.
Your gift of 25 dollars, 50 dollars, 100 dollars, or more helps us keep the pressure on the Senate at this critical moment. A recurring monthly gift provides the steady strength needed for long-term victories.
