Why was he invited in the first place?

During the week of 9/11, thousands of Muslims gathered for the Islamic Society of North America’s (ISNA) 63rd annual convention.  

One scheduled speaker who didn't show was Tariq Masood, a Pakistani cleric who has acknowledged coercing his 13-year-old niece to marry. After the Washington Free Beacon ran a story last week that he was on the schedule, ISNA announced he "is no longer speaking at the convention."  

The Free Beacon report added that Masood has not only acknowledged forcing his young niece into marriage but encouraged other Muslim men to do likewise, citing Sharia law.  

Child bride marriages are allowed under Sharia. In fact, Muslims are told to imitate the perfect example of Muhammad, who consummated his marriage to Aisha when she was 9 . . . and he was in his 50s. 

“What is the issue with this?” a Muslim scholar asked, speaking of child brides at a public debate last year on the campus of North Carolina State University. He added:

If the Prophet was here, everyone would love to do that, and give his daughter to the Prophet. So there is nothing wrong with that. 

This is why we must act now. Islamic Sharia is incompatible with American culture and the U.S. Constitution. Congress must stop it from gaining any foothold in our laws, courts, and public institutions.

Once news broke that Masood forced his 13-year-old niece to marry, he disappeared from the ISNA confab. Around the same time, another Sharia-linked battle erupted in Maryland. 

A Baltimore school board member posted a meme stating, “If you fear MAGA will take away women’s rights, then you should learn about Sharia law.”  

Right above it, the school board member wrote: “Not wrong.” 

Outraged, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a U.S.-based front for the terrorist group Hamas, immediately pounced. It mounted a fierce pressure campaign demanding she repudiate her post and apologize. 

It worked. Even though Sharia does, in fact, rob women of equal dignity and freedom, the board member took down the post and apologized. CAIR's brutal PR campaign succeeded in censoring this public official.  

But that doesn't change the truth as to how Islam and Sharia view women . . . 

“Allah has made men superior to women . . . ,” the Quran announces.  Islamic law gives husbands the right to beat their wives, marry up to four women at a time, and makes divorce a simple matter of telling one’s wife, ‘I divorce you.’” 

Husbands have the authority to confine their wives at home and the wife is obligated under Sharia to be always available to her husband’s sexual demands. 

In addition, only men can serve as judges and the eyewitness testimony of a woman is worth half that of a man, according to Muhammad. The reason, he explained, is that “a woman’s mind is deficient.” In the Quran, “Allah commands” fathers give their daughters half the inheritance share given to their sons. 

The school board member had it right to begin with: “If you fear MAGA will take away women’s rights, then you should learn about Sharia law.” 

The fight over Sharia is heating up. Despite CAIR's lie, Sharia is a real threat, and it is critical that we make our voices heard now. 

Fax your representatives and senators directly and urge them to pass the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act (H.R. 5722 & S. 3009). Tell Congress: No foreign legal system may override the Constitution — Sharia or otherwise.
