This is How Sharia Advances

Sep 14, 2026

It starts with a few acres. A couple of houses. A mosque. Then an Islamic school. Families want to live among people who share their Muslim faith. Then they want to have those Muslim rules enforced.

Suddenly: what you wear. What you eat. How you marry. How you divorce. How your home is financed. How property passes after death. Who has authority in the home ... all of this falls under Sharia law.

And that directly opposes our Constitution and equal protection under the law, U.S. law.

Right now, across America, Islamic residential communities are intentionally being built on the idea that Islamic principles should shape community life. There are about 10 active communities across New York, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Virginia, Mississippi, Alaska, and Arkansas, with more proposed in Texas.

From our nation’s very first conflict with the Barbary pirates to the most recent terror on American soil on Sept. 11, our nation and our people have faced violent attacks from Muslims. Now we are seeing concentrated pockets of Islam springing up across our nation.

These compounds stand in stark contrast to our existing Western social order and the freedom it affords. Islam-specific religious practices are taking over these sections of our nation. This threat is real.

FAX Congress now. Tell your lawmakers to pass the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act (H.R. 5722 and S. 3009).
America’s Constitution must remain the supreme law of this land.

One of the most prolific organizers of these Muslim compounds is The Muslims of America (TMOA). The group states its goals plainly as being dedicated to “establishing and maintaining Islamic principles to be practiced in both letter and spirit.” It does this, TMOA says, by forming communities centered on Allah and directing obedience to “His Commandments.”

This isn't someone else's description.

Those are their own words, their own goals in black and white.

Sharia is not limited to what happens inside a mosque. Sharia is a comprehensive body of Islamic laws that deeply touch ordinary life — including diet, dress code, marriage, divorce, inheritance, finance, and family relationships. And many of those “Commandments” are directly opposed to our Judeo-Christian culture.

To that goal, TMOA has established rural communities called Holy Islamberg, Holy Islamville, Aliville, Mian Mir, Ahmadabad, and others that give us at least 10 identifiable communities from TMOA's own relatively recent records. But TMOA is not the only one pushing the establishment of these communities.

In Texas, there is a massive development originally promoted as EPIC City, now called The Meadow, that proposed approximately 1,000 single-family and multifamily homes across roughly 400 acres. The Meadow’s promotional language describes a community that “brings Islam to the forefront.”

Then in Little Rock, Ark., developers have started building a New Africa Subdivision. Its Islamic organizer didn't hide its goal:

“We are building New Africa Subdivision here in Little Rock Arkansas as a Model Community.”

Five of 22 planned homes had already been completed, along with plans for a school and Islamic community facilities. Then came another revealing sentence: After completing the infrastructure, the organizers intend “to continue to build on our six Acres and beyond.”

Their intent for these compounds is plain. They are only the beginning of pushing a new set of laws to be applied across our nation, laws rooted in injustice and inequality.

Send your faxes to Congress now. Tell members to draw a firm line: Protect constitutional law, reject Sharia-based legal encroachment, and pass the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act.

Look at countries where forms of Islamic law carry governmental force. Marriage, divorce, and inheritance can operate very differently under Sharia. In Iran, for example, the Islamic-influenced civil code gives husbands and wives dramatically different divorce and inheritance rights, according to Cornell Law School's Legal Information Institute.

Our constitutional government must not be displaced by a system of injustice that would deprive Americans of their rights guaranteed under current law.

The federal Department of Housing and Urban Development announced an investigation in February after receiving allegations that EPIC City was marketed as an exclusively “Muslim community,” an “epicenter of Islam in America,” and that property owners would subsidize a mosque and Islamic educational centers.

A religious rule an individual voluntarily follows is one thing. A religious rule enforced over another person's life is something entirely different.

Please stand with Liberty Counsel Action as we fight to defend religious liberty and the constitutional order that makes genuine religious liberty possible.

Our freedom cannot survive if we fail to defend it.
