738 Days in an Underground Tunnel

Oct 15, 2026

Nearly 500 UN workers participated in the horrible torture of innocent civilians — yet hundreds are STILL receiving our money

I just returned from Israel where I had the opportunity to personally meet several of the October 7 hostages and hear firsthand the horrors and torture they endured.

One was Avinatan Or, who was kidnapped October 7, 2023. He helplessly watched as terrorists pinned his girlfriend, Noa Argamani, between two men on a motorcycle ignoring her painful screams for mercy. He spent day after day imprisoned in underground tunnels enduring unimaginable suffering too gruesome to share here. He spent 738 days not seeing the light of day as a hostage of Hamas terrorists!

Even after his release more than a year ago, his body still bears the marks of starvation. He once looked like a modern-day Holocaust survivor.

Even more shocking is that hundreds of U.N. workers were part of this unspeakable torture of innocent civilians.

American taxpayers have been helping finance the United Nations system AND WE PAY MORE THAN ANY NATION. And 76 million dollars of our tax dollars go through the U.N. in salaries to UNRWA staff! Join me now in demanding Congress DEFUND the U.N. in the Appropriations bill until this pipeline to terrorism is shut down.

Hearing Avinatan’s story firsthand was heartbreaking. What makes this tragedy even more disturbing is that he is one of hundreds of victims whose torture and imprisonment happened at the hands of nearly 500 employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which is still receiving money from the United Nations. Sadly, around 400 of them are still employed by UNRWA and their salaries are paid by the U.N., which received our funding.

Now, the extent of that terrorist infiltration is coming into focus.

A sweeping investigation by Geneva-based UN Watch exposes just how deeply Hamas and other terrorist organizations allegedly infiltrated this U.N. agency.

This investigation uncovered 490 documented profiles and 889 connections involving UNRWA personnel, terrorist figures, extremist organizations, and institutional networks.

According to UN Watch, the evidence includes:

  • UNRWA employees affiliated with Hamas and other terrorist organizations.

  • Teachers and educators who celebrated mass murder and encouraged violence.

  • UNRWA facilities reportedly exploited for weapons storage, military operations, and terrorist infrastructure.

  • UNRWA union leaders who simultaneously held senior positions within Hamas.

Yet in June, UNRWA dismissed only 70 employees following these direct and documented connections. But what about the hundreds of other cases UN Watch exposed? American taxpayers should not still be helping finance the U.N. system that creates and funds terrorism!

This was not merely a handful of rogue employees. UN Watch documented an extensive network reaching deep into the agency's institutions. These men occupied influential positions within an organization operating under the flag of the United Nations.

Consider Suhail al-Hindi, whom UN Watch identified as both a Hamas political figure and the head of UNRWA's staff union in Gaza.

Or Fateh al-Sharif, identified as both a Hamas leader in Lebanon and a leader of UNRWA's teachers' union.

It doesn’t stop there. “These 490 exposed UNRWA employees are only the tip of the iceberg,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch.

He went on to say, “UNRWA has operated for decades without meaningful oversight while billions in international aid have flowed into Gaza. Donor governments must now decide: will they continue writing blank checks to an agency that empowers Hamas, or will they demand accountability?”

Now it has come to light that “UNRWA claims to be a humanitarian agency, but the evidence shows it has been infested with agents of Hamas. Many of its employees are not neutral civil servants – they are terrorists in UN uniform,” Neuer concludes.

The brutality of the Oct. 7 attacks was gut-wrenching. I toured the home where a crib mattress sat soaked in the blood of an innocent baby brutally murdered on Oct. 7. This is the evil that our tax dollars paid toward!

UNRWA's own financial records confirm that it received 76 million dollars from the U.N. regular budget in 2025. And the U.N. received hundreds of millions of dollars from U.S. taxpayers.

We now have a chance to DEFUND THE U.N. in the Appropriations bill. Demand Congress take action and defund the U.N. NOW!

That is why we are calling on you to help educate Congress and urge members to suspend ALL funding to the U.N. The victims of Oct. 7 have already suffered unimaginable horrors.

The least we can do is demand that our tax dollars never support institutions that employ or protect those responsible. We can act now to help prevent such evil from happening again on our watch.

When you give today, you help us hold Congress accountable. No more blank checks. No more excuses. No more American taxpayer support for UNRWA through the United Nations.

Please give your most generous gift to Liberty Counsel Action today. Your support helps us investigate, educate, communicate with citizens across America, and hold members of Congress publicly accountable for the decisions they make.

Please act today.
