Advancing Life and Liberty Through Action

Extreme views held by this candidate are shocking
When he decided to become a Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate, Abdul El-Sayed, deleted all his social media posts before July 2023, including those about 9/11.
El-Sayed's statements about 9/11 expose where his loyalty lies ... and it’s not with America!
Then came a second terrorist attack. In March 2026, a man rammed his vehicle into Temple Israel synagogue in Michigan and opened fire on a security guard. Families with children were inside.
In response, El-Sayed posted: “Hurt people hurt people,” pointing out that the terrorist had lost family in a war overseas. El-Sayed excused a despicable crime intended to kill scores of people.
America is on the cusp of a pivotal election. Liberty Counsel Action is helping lead a national coalition to encourage informed civic participation through education, mobilization to get out the vote, and prayer.
We urgently need your help now. Can you give today to help us get across the finish line?
There is more to El-Sayed's past comments.
He described following Islamic Sharia law as a lifelong religious obligation.
In 2009, at age 24, El-Sayed purchased a 123,000-dollar condominium in Ann Arbor, Mich., using only Sharia-compliant financing.
He explained to the New York Times that when he stood before Allah, he did not want to say he had chosen the easier path; instead, he chose the Sharia-compliant one “because of obligation” until the day he dies.
Nine years later, during El-Sayed's unsuccessful 2018 campaign for Michigan governor, journalist Laura Loomer confronted him about Sharia. El-Sayed attempted to deny that he was following Sharia.
In 2026, however, he flip-flopped again, and his campaign confirmed that he continues to observe Islamic religious rules.
El-Sayed's public comments about attempts to restrict Sharia in American courts deserve examination, too.
In an October 2022 address to CAIR's Oklahoma chapter, he connected efforts to ban Sharia law with white supremacy.
He invoked the Trail of Tears, the destruction of Tulsa's Black Wall Street, and the Oklahoma City bombing, claiming the same forces were behind efforts to ban Sharia.
Louisiana Republican Senator John Kennedy suggested that El-Sayed was playing for the wrong team. He said El-Sayed probably slept in an Osama bin Laden jersey. El-Sayed responded with the baseless accusation that Kennedy was part of the Ku Klux Klan — perhaps because he supported anti-Sharia legislation or because of the color of his skin.
