Yesterday was disturbing but we have every confidence that God is writing a different story for our nation. And that this setback can be reversed with His help, and as we work, pray, and act. Do not be discouraged!

Our team spent hours in unified, powerful prayer over the weekend in Washington, D.C., and we feel the Lord is commissioning us to be an even stronger voice on Capitol Hill and to minister in the midst of the darkness encroaching on our legislature.

We will not mince words. Moving forward will be challenging, but we serve a God of the impossible, who has promised to walk with us in the valleys as well as the peaks.

We have seen temporary setbacks like this throughout the decades. We firmly feel the Lord stirring our hearts that the only way that we truly lose is if we give up. We cannot surrender to discouragement. We cannot throw up our hands and walk away. Not when so much is at stake.

And the next test of our resolve is already before us. For the last four+ months, Congress has been funding major abortion providers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. How can we expect that the Lord will bless our nation if taxpayer dollars are going to fund this?

Now is the time for courage and for action. And there is no time to waste! Republicans will be back at their desks in just a few workdays.

Let’s greet them with demands that they pass a budget that will end funding for major abortion providers for the next year.

Here is what your taxpayer dollars for abortion help sustain. At one abortion facility, “sewage from a backed-up toilet seeped into the abortion recovery room for two days.”

Rather than fixing the problem or delaying abortions until there were sanitary conditions, employees simply shoved “exam table pads under the bathroom door to block the leak” from escaping. But they couldn’t do anything to block the smell. It was so bad that “Patients vomited from the stench,” a report concluded.

This is vile. Not a single penny should go to Big Abortion. However, taxpayers recently sent 699.3 MILLION dollars to Planned Parenthood alone, and that's just one of the organizations causing these deaths.

Congress has an opportunity now to shut down this taxpayer funding. Send your faxes TODAY demanding that lawmakers stop funding Planned Parenthood and other major abortion providers!

Let me be clear: We cannot think of a better battle to fight than to stop federally funded abortion providers. This is a David-and-Goliath moment, and we're up against one of the best-funded lobby groups in the nation.

When the challenges before us might seem overwhelming, I am reminded of a powerful exchange in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring.

Burdened by the terrible task before him, Frodo laments, “I wish it need not have happened in my time.” His mentor replies, “So do I, and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

We need to stand up and behave in the exact same way. We should not crumble because the task ahead is hard. We can refuse to surrender. We can use the time, resources, and opportunities God has placed before us to defend those who cannot defend themselves.
