The disturbing track record and extreme views of the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party of the United States
In 2019, Kamala Harris was ranked as the “most liberal” senator by the nonpartisan entity GovTrack — to the left of self-declared socialist Bernie Sanders. A vehement supporter of abortion up to birth, Harris opposes lifesaving care for infants born alive after a failed abortion, actively works to undermine religious liberty, and pushes anti-family policies.
Her extreme stances on these and other issues are out of touch with most Americans, pandering to a radical agenda that is neither democratic nor free. Her disturbing record as a prosecutor and politician should concern every American and raise questions surrounding her puzzling ascent to the second most powerful political office in our nation. As New York Times bestselling author Peter Schweizer summarized, her activities as a prosecutor were “very frightening,” revealing a trend of “collective favoritism to criminal networks and organizations linked to her political allies.”
The vice president’s “very frightening” activities continue in her current role, where she demonstrated a willful incompetence that threatens our national security. Indeed, her record is so dismal that more than one Member of Congress — both Reps. Andrew Ogles (R-TN) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) — filed resolutions calling for her impeachment. Rep. Ogles, in fact, has filed two resolutions, one due to Harris’ "extraordinary incompetence in the execution of her duties and responsibilities and an indifference to Americans suffering as a result of America’s ongoing southern border crisis” and a second (building on his first) references her covering of (by either intent or ignorance) the mental decline of President Biden, stating she “knowingly misled the people of the United States and the Congress of the United States, principally to obfuscate the physical and cognitive well-being of the President.” Similarly, in response to the breathtakingly incompetent withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, Rep. Boebert filed a resolution calling for Harris’ impeachment in 2021, stating “Vice President Harris has violated her oath of office to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against enemies foreign and domestic by supporting President Biden’s abysmal oversight of the withdrawal of United States troops from Afghanistan.”
Harris’ record on the issues, including matters of national security, is more than simply left of the left. It shows a flagrant disregard for the rule of law and the safety of those she is entrusted to protect and defend. As presidential nominee Kamala Harris stands on the threshold to vie for the presidency, her questionable political career, dereliction of duty as the nation’s second-highest office holder, and extreme views should not go unaccounted for or unnoticed.
More than extreme: Harris’ views on life, religious liberty, & the family
Taking both her policy views and voting record into account, Harris reveals that she is a radical candidate, with stances that are “left of left” on the political spectrum.
Life
As a senator, Harris co-sponsored the 2019 Women’s Health Protection Act, the most aggressive pro-abortion federal legislation ever introduced, permitting abortion up to birth for any reason. The proposed legislation sought to invalidate all state-level protections for unborn children after the point of viability up until birth, effectively gutting health and safety regulations, banning waiting periods, prohibiting pre-abortion ultrasounds, and more.
Harris voted twice (in 2019 and 2020) against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (requiring doctors to provide the same care to infants who survive abortions as they would to any other newborn), and as vice president, called it "extreme."
She similarly voted against a bill to provide protection for babies who can feel pain in the womb.
As California attorney general, Harris launched an investigation into the work of Sandra Merritt and David Daleiden, founder of The Center for Medical Progress, after these citizen journalists produced videos documenting Planned Parenthood’s illegal trafficking of aborted baby body parts. Harris abused the power of her office to raid Daleiden’s home to confiscate the videos and protect Planned Parenthood — and then prosecuted Sandra, the grandmother who exposed the trafficking.
She received the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which also notes Harris has a 100% pro-abortion voting record.
She praised Democrat attorneys general for “taking on, rightly, the crisis pregnancy centers.”
Alongside Joe Biden, Vice President Harris called for codifying Roe v. Wade and for judges that would respect it as “foundational precedent," which follows her belief that abortion is a constitutional right.
Religious Liberty & the Family
In 2014, Harris led 14 attorneys general in filing an amicus brief with the Supreme Court seeking to force Hobby Lobby to violate the owner’s religious convictions by requiring them to cover contraception (and potentially abortifacient drugs).
As a senator, she sponsored the Do No Harm Act, which sought to weaken the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) — a landmark law signed by Democrat President Bill Clinton outlining that “governments should not substantially burden religious exercise without compelling justification.” The proposed legislation would have prevented appeals to RFRA when it came to “anti-discrimination” legislation protecting abortion and radical gender and sexual orientation ideology.
Harris also supports (and co-sponsored a version of) the Equality Act, which would require religious organizations to promote LGBT activities, destroy gender privacy in locker rooms and bathrooms, put parental rights in relation to their children’s education and health at risk, and more.
Harris condemned several judicial nominees “for ‘extreme views,’ including one who supported Kim Davis, then a county clerk in Rowan County, Kentucky, who refused to personally issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples due to her belief that marriage is between one man and one woman.” Liberty Counsel has represented Davis since 2015.
As California attorney general, Harris was an outspoken supporter of same-sex marriage, opposing a 2008 referendum enacted by voters, Proposition 8, which would have enacted a same-sex marriage ban.
Most recently, the Harris campaign attacked Trump’s vice-presidential nominee, J.D. Vance, for his support of the child tax credit. In response, Vance writes, “Most Americans in both political parties support the child tax credit and lowering the tax burden for parents. It’s disturbing that the Kamala campaign is running on such an extreme anti-family agenda that they’re taking radical positions like this.”
Israel
In the wake of a devastating attack on Israel, and an affront to all Israelis, Harris suggested President Biden include a remark in his speech denouncing “Islamophobia” alongside remarks to denounce antisemitism.
Harris recently stated, “The Israeli government must do more to significantly increase the flow of aid [to Palestinians]. No excuses.”
In a public affront to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, she refused to preside over his recent speech to Congress (instead attending a sorority event). Several Democratic lawmakers followed suit and did not go to the speech.
As summarized by a Muslim Arab, “By advocating an end to the war in the Gaza Strip, Harris is asking that Israel, by allowing Hamas to remain in power, submit itself to unending jihadist attacks.”
In summary, since the Hamas-Israel war started, Harris has consistently slighted Israel.
Illegal immigration & border policy
Kamala Harris’ stance on immigration and the border crisis are best understood in the context of her record prior to becoming vice president, her dereliction of duty as the nation’s “Border Czar,” and the recent whitewashing of her failures in her current roles as vice president and Border Czar.
Record Prior to Vice Presidency
Harris not only supported “sanctuary cities” but also championed them during her time as district attorney (DA) for San Francisco, with her office stating “we are a sanctuary city, a city of refuge, and we always will be.”
Also, during her time as DA, Harris "ran a program that allowed illegal immigrants arrested for drug crimes to get job training and have their records expunged — all while avoiding deportation because of the city’s sanctuary policies.” One of the individuals she selected for said program was an illegal immigrant who allegedly assaulted a young woman in the process of snatching her purse, “leaving her with a skull fracture and longterm trauma.” While Harris later supported deporting the immigrant, her policies caused the very harm she was meant to be preventing.
During a November 2018 Senate confirmation hearing, she compared U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the KKK, asking Ronald Vitiello, President Trump's nominee to lead ICE, if he was “aware of the perception of many about how the power and the discretion at ICE is being used to enforce the laws and do you see any parallels [with the KKK]?”
As a U.S. senator, Harris received an F- from NumbersUSA, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that publishes grade cards on congressional lawmakers in relation to their performance on immigration, referencing the 2019 RAIDER Act she co-sponsored, which sought to block Trump’s construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall (among other things).
During her first bid for the presidency, Harris supported providing health care coverage to illegal immigrants.
She similarly supported decriminalizing illegal migration and noted she would make it “a civil matter.”
Dereliction of Duty as “Border Czar”
A 2023 congressional committee hearing highlighted that (under Harris’ leadership) the number of (known or suspected) terrorists crossing the border is increasing exponentially.
While some terrorists have been apprehended, current policies have failed to apprehend all. For example, this year U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) worked alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force to arrest eight nationals from Tajikistan with ties to ISIS. A reporter detailed that “all eight ... crossed the U.S. southern border illegally.” Worse yet, the “suspected terrorists were ‘fully vetted,’ and nothing was flagged.”
National Immigration Center for Enforcement President R.J. Hauman stated that Harris directed “the agency in charge of enforcing our immigration laws [ICE] to willfully violate them.”
House Republicans, joined by six Democrats, passed a resolution condemning Harris’ performance as “border czar.” Commenting on the resolution and citing President Biden’s delegation of authority to the vice president on this matter in 2021, Committee Chairman Mark Green states, “No rational person could look at the years since, and conclude anything except that she was utterly unqualified, and has completely failed.”
Commenting on his resolution calling for her impeachment, Rep. Ogles summarizes: “Time and again, Kamala Harris has refused to uphold her oath to the U.S. Constitution, and she must be impeached. Her breathtaking incompetence as Border Czar has allowed a crisis of drugs, rape, and murder to flood the streets of America.”
“Border Czar” whitewash
Harris’ failed leadership on immigration issues is so atrocious that the Kamala campaign and certain media outlets are now attempting to whitewash reality by distancing her from the role of “Border Czar,” yet it is clear she was acting in said role: In 2021, President Biden asked Vice President Harris “to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border.” As Biden concludes his remarks, he expands on her leading role, stating that “she’s leading the effort. ... When she speaks, she speaks for me.”
The President’s comments clearly empower Harris to act as a “czar” — a term popularized during the FDR administration that simply means someone in charge of a certain policy area. And it seems telling that the previous border czar stepped down “a few weeks after the president’s announcement of Harris’s new responsibility.”
In short, Biden may not have used the word ‘czar’ to empower her as such, yet Harris oversaw at least part of the picture and stood in support of the president’s policies — which have failed. Rather than shift focus to try and rewrite history, Harris needs to take responsibility for her part in the border crisis.
Quick Takes
Second Amendment & Criminal Justice
Harris supports universal background checks and a ban on assault weapons. Having previously called for a mandatory buyback of assault weapons, it is one of several positions she has recently walked back — raising questions on whether she may flip-flop again.
In 2023, Harris praised Australian gun-control laws, which require individuals to provide a “genuine reason” — under which ‘self-defense’ does not qualify — for owning a firearm.
She supported the movement to defund the police.
Harris similarly supports abolishing the Immigration Customs and Enforcement agency.
In 2020, Harris promoted donations to the Minnesota Freedom [bail] Fund to assist in the release of those rioting (“protesting” in her terms) in the wake of George Floyd’s death — the fund, however, also assisted in freeing dangerous criminals. While Harris may claim she did not support the release of certain individuals, the reality is the fund she tweeted in support of was used for dangerous individuals. Furthermore, her general opposition to the cash-bail system raises questions.
COVID-19 Pandemic Policies
The Harris-Biden administration issued requirements for federal employees to get “vaccinated” — when little to nothing was known about the possible side effects and long-term effects the shots would produce.
This “vaccine” mandate was expanded to workers at Medicare and Medicaid facilities, as well as anyone who worked at an organization with more than 100 employees, lest they choose to wear a mask and be tested weekly (the latter was later blocked by the Supreme Court).
Health Care
Initially a supporter of universal health care, having co-sponsored the 2019 Medicare for All Act, Harris has "flip-flopped" more than once on health care, at one point supporting a policy that would have cost 11 times that of Obamacare.
Currently it is unclear whether she will run on one of her many previous positions — or craft a new position altogether.
Supreme Court Reform
Education
Harris supports denying parental rights related to their children’s education on LGBTQ+ issues.
Based on the Biden-Harris administrations’ re-write of Title IX, she similarly seems to support prohibiting "discrimination" based on gender identity (permitting males who identify as females to play in girls' sports), threatening “girls’ safety and fairness at school.”
Harris co-sponsored the “College for All” Act, making four-year higher education programs free for families earning less than $125,000 and making community college free for all. She also is a vocal advocate of loan forgiveness.
Environment & the Economy
She co-sponsored a resolution dubbed the “Green New Deal,” in essence, advancing socialism and a radical environmentalist agenda. The deal called for a complete transition to “clean energy” away from fossil fuels, presumably, within 10 years. It also would have provided “job guarantees,” “high-quality healthcare” and called for “the transformation of U.S. agriculture, including an end to much of the cattle industry.” In sum, it is “one of the most far-reaching, costly proposals offered in American history.” As one pundit notes, it would collapse our economy. Not content with our current democratic process, she supports getting rid of the filibuster to pass this radical bill.
Harris was one of 13 senators “to vote against Jerome Powell’s nomination as chairman [of the Federal Reserve] because he’s not inflationary enough.” Furthermore, she supported legislation to require the Fed to focus on diversity (rather than their actual job).
During a 2023 speech on clean energy and the economy, Harris stated that reducing the population should be part of the efforts to combat climate change. While the White House claims she meant to say “pollution” instead of “population,” it raises cause for questioning whether this was a Freudian slip (and indeed coincides with her stance on abortion).
The likely outcome of a nation under Harris’ leadership
Collectively, Kamala Harris’ stances on the most vital issues of our day would bring about a fiscal demise, rob the American people of the freedom and protection they are guaranteed under our founding documents, and destroy our founding values, among them life, family, and religious liberty.
