CHICAGO, IL – As the Democratic National Convention (DNC) comes to a close in Chicago, attendees reiterated their commitment to Kamala Harris, nominating her to run as the party’s candidate for President, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, in a ceremonial roll-call vote. Speeches from top voices in the Democratic Party continue to energize a radical base of voters and demean the Republican Party, with one speaker going so far as to call the GOP a cult. In another speech Bernie Sanders stated that the Harris agenda is not “radical,” yet on life, religious liberty, and the family, both Harris and Walz have a long history of supporting abortion up-to-birth, denying parental rights related to their children’s health and education on LGBTQ issues, as well as opposing life-saving care for infants who are born alive as the result of a failed abortion. 

The Democratic Party Platform clearly embraces abortion without limits, a ban on Christian counseling for youth who struggle with gender confusion, and more far left policies. While details of a Harris-Walz policy agenda remain vague, examples of their extreme policy views abound, including Harris’ co-sponsorship of the 2019 Women’s Health Protection Act, permitting abortion up to birth for any reason. Similarly, as Governor of Minnesota, Walz signed three bills into law that together make Minnesota an “abortion sanctuary.”

On LGBTQ matters, both Walz and Harris have advocated for destroying gender privacy in school bathrooms. Walz has gone even further, signing into law LGBTQ legislation that allows the state to take “emergency custody” of children who struggle with gender confusion, both within the state, as well as those who may somehow find their way to the state, so they may receive puberty blockers, hormones and medical mutilating surgeries without parental consent. 

Both candidates have demonstrated disregard for the rule of law and the safety of those they are entrusted to protect and defend. As “Border Czar,” Harris failed to stem the tide of illegal immigration. For example, Rep. Andy Ogles, who filed a resolution calling for her impeachment, summarizes: “...Kamala Harris has refused to uphold her oath to the U.S. Constitution, and she must be impeached. Her breathtaking incompetence as Border Czar has allowed a crisis of drugs, rape, and murder to flood the streets of America.” Under Walz’s leadership, a similar crisis of crime flooded the streets of Minneapolis after he failed to dispatch the National Guard for days during the riots that broke out in his state after the death of George Floyd, leading to the death of at least three citizens, as well as injuries to citizens and law enforcement and the burning of a police precinct. 

Walz’s connections to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) raise further concerns regarding whether Harris’ running mate, as well as Harris herself, is fit for office. In a letter from the Congressional Committee on Oversight and Accountability, Chairman James Comer writes that Walz’s associations with the CCP “make him susceptible to the Party’s strategy of elite capture, which seeks to co-opt influential figures in elite political, cultural, and academic circles to influence the United States to the benefit of the communist regime and the detriment of Americans” (emphasis added). 

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) recently summarized, Harris-Walz is the “most radical left-wing ticket in American history.”
