This bill is back. And so is the threat.
The so-called “Equality Act” is not a dusty old bill from a past Congress. It has been reintroduced as H.R. 15 and S. 1503 in both chambers — and the danger is still the same.
Imagine your children at church or Christian school being taught by a male “drag queen.”
Seems far-fetched? It’s not.
Chris Weaver led “worship” at his “church” in New York called Zoe Ministries. Yet Chris would go straight from church to put on makeup and perform in drag as “Nedra Belle” at local specialty bars.
If that is not enough, one of his “performances” was called “Worship with Nedra Belle” with a picture of him in a black dress and heels in front of a diamond studded golden cross. He even bragged to a reporter, “Listen, the children better be ready” for his drag queen performance as “Nedra Belle.”
Make no mistake: some people with this confused physiology want to be front and center on your church stage, and they want to tie your hands so there is nothing you can do about it.
The Equality Act would demand exactly that. There is zero time for complacency. Please rush your urgent fax to Congress to stop H.R. 15/S. 1503.
This bill would not merely “protect” people from discrimination. It would dramatically expand federal power, rewrite the meaning of sex in civil rights law, and put churches, Christian schools, women’s shelters, ministries, employers, parents, and children directly in the crosshairs.
And here is the line every Christian, parent, pastor, teacher, and ministry leader must understand: The Equality Act expressly states that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act shall not be a defense.
Churches and religious schools must have the right to teach the next generation biblical values. Without this freedom, churches and schools close, compromise, or go underground. Communist countries relentlessly target churches to silence them. That is what the so-called Equality Act threatens to do here.
We actually have a case of an elementary teacher in Madison, Wisconsin, who sent all the children K-5 a video telling them to no longer refer to him as “Mr.” From henceforth, they must refer to him as “Mx.” because he is “neither male nor female.” He says he is “both, and sometimes neither.”
If this person, who now goes by “Mx. Steele,” taught your children in your church or school, the Equality Act could be used as a legal weapon against anyone who objects. Resistance could result in lawsuits by the attorney general or private individuals for “discrimination.”
The Equality Act would force churches and religious schools — pre-K through college — to remain silent and submit.
Send a fax immediately to help us fight this outrageous bill.
That means Americans could be hauled into court — and barred from using one of the strongest religious liberty protections Congress ever passed. Please rush your urgent fax to Congress to stop H.R. 15/S. 1503.
Not only could churches and religious schools face costly lawsuits, but they could also lose tax exemption, and schools could lose accreditation. For most schools, especially colleges and universities, loss of accreditation is a death sentence. Remember the for-profit ITT Technical Institute? It closed after losing accreditation. With students unable to get student loans and not being able to go on to graduate school, the loss of accreditation is devastating.
The Equality Act will also force churches and religious organizations that perform marriage ceremonies to provide their facilities for same-sex ceremonies … or face crushing lawsuits.
Abuse shelters for women could be forced to allow men to sleep in the same rooms with women. Churches could be forced to allow boys to sleep with girls on overnight trips.
The Equality Act will affect everyone, including the individual working part-time from home providing goods or services online. It is a massive expansion of the federal government.
Time is short, and every vote counts. Everyone reading this email should respond by sending a fax and/or signing our petition.
Send your urgent fax right now to demand Congress stop H.R. 15/S. 1503.
If the Equality Act becomes law, trying to stop someone like Chris from performing in drag at your church or synagogue could be met with lawsuits, fines, loss of tax exemption, and more.
We have a narrow window to stop this bill.
Make no mistake, this bill is a very real threat. It paints a huge target on the backs of churches, ministries, schools, parents, business owners, and every American who refuses to bow to the LGBT agenda.
