The bill has already cleared a key Assembly committee and is expected to receive approval in the state Senate this week. What is happening in New Jersey is more than a state fight. It is a warning for the nation. Make no mistake: New Jersey is showing us what radicals want to impose nationwide through the Equality Act, pending now in Congress.

The so-called “Equality Act” already has 215 co-sponsors in the U.S. House and 47 in the Senate.

The New Jersey bill creates a new crime of “interference with reproductive health care services.” The “transgender” agenda is folded into the definition of “reproductive health care services,” including medication and counseling, tied to a person’s “gender identity or expression.”

This New Jersey bill is so expansive that it reaches alleged “attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce” opposition to abortion or trans-related procedures. It includes alleged damage to a person’s business or reputation, financial harm, pain and suffering, mental anguish, or emotional harm.

“Mental anguish” can become a catch-all for anything activists do not like.

The intent of the Equality Act is exactly the same! It elevates “gender identity or expression” to a protected status. It even applies to people who “are perceived to be LGBTQ,” even though they are not. This gives activists a national weapon to punish Christians, parents, ministries, schools, counselors, doctors, charities, employers, and small businesses if they even suspect that you refuse to bow to their radical gender ideology.

Under the Equality Act, biological males will be given federal protection to enter women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, prisons, shelters, dorm rooms, and sports nationwide.

Females will lose their privacy and their safety. Female athletes will lose their scholarships, opportunities, and titles to males claiming to be “female.”

The Equality Act threatens legal punishment against anyone accused of “discrimination” for refusing to affirm gender identity ideology.

Once this destructive agenda has power, the government will be weaponized.
