Massive Wins Hang By a Thread

Aug 17, 2026

For years, we were called hateful just for telling the truth.

We said boys are boys. Girls are girls. And no amount of scalpels, hormones, or surgeries can change that.

Now we are seeing massive progress. After ridicule, censorship, and relentless attacks, the transgender medical establishment’s wall of “consensus” is beginning to crack and crumble.

For years, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) was treated as the final authority on transgender medicine. Politicians, hospitals, and activists repeatedly pointed to WPATH’s guidelines. It was proof that these drugs and mutilating surgeries were supposedly safe, necessary, and supported by an unquestionable medical consensus.

But that was just a political smokescreen.

In a recent court case, WPATH gave four reasons why its directives should NEVER have been taken seriously!

In addition, the Trump administration is ending government insurance coverage for children’s sex-rejecting (“transgender”) surgeries, beginning Oct. 13.

This is historic, unprecedented progress. But BOTH of these victories hang by a thread.

If the language of the misnamed "Equality Act" is passed in any bill, it could erase this progress and crush opposition. That means forcing Christian doctors to perform these mutilation surgeries, religious hospitals to conform, and families to bow to this medical madness.

Don’t let this happen! Urge Congress with as many faxes as possible to BLOCK THE EQUALITY ACT in all forms and versions.

But now that WPATH is being held accountable, its tune has suddenly changed.

The Federal Trade Commission and four states sued WPATH, accusing the organization of making false or unsupported claims about the safety and effectiveness of transgender drugs and surgeries for children.

WPATH responded by asking the court to dismiss the case against it — and its defense is stunning.

First, WPATH declared that the authoritative directives in its Standards of Care were merely “opinions” about what existing research means — not objective facts for which it can be held liable.

In reality, WPATH claimed 10 years ago these surgeries were “medically necessary,” adding:

These reconstructive procedures are not optional in any meaningful sense ... such surgery is the only effective treatment for the condition, and for some people genital surgery is essential and life-saving ...

... that doesn’t sound like an opinion to us.

WPATH didn’t stop there. It now acknowledges that now there is “medical and scientific uncertainty” surrounding transgender procedures on children — and argued that states are entitled to reach different conclusions.

Third, WPATH claimed its recommendations represent only one side of an ongoing medical debate.

Finally, WPATH argues that doctors must review the evidence and make their own independent decisions — meaning WPATH should not be blamed when physicians follow its guidelines resulting in the harm and damage of children.

Think about this breathtaking contradiction.

When WPATH wanted influence, its Standards of Care were treated as unquestionable science, pressuring parents, doctors, and insurers to comply. But now that WPATH faces liability, those “standards” have become mere opinions in a field filled with “medical uncertainty.”

WPATH wanted the authority of established science without responsibility for the children permanently harmed — and its own court filing reveals that the supposed consensus never existed.

However, there is still a live bill in Congress that would require this nonexistent consensus to become the law of the land. If passed, the Equality Act would add “gender identity” throughout federal civil-rights law and apply those provisions to federally funded programs. It demands that EVERYONE adhere to the same directives from which WPATH is now running away.

Send as many faxes as possible right now to Congress to urge them to block every aspect of this language.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has just delivered a massive victory for America’s children.

Beginning Oct. 13, Medicaid will no longer pay for puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or transgender surgeries for children under 18. CHIP will stop paying for these procedures for anyone under 19. Taxpayers will no longer be forced to finance the destruction of healthy organs in physically healthy children.

This is an enormous win — and supporters like you helped make it possible. But it could be erased with the click of a voting button.

Please make your most generous donation to Liberty Counsel Action today. You helped us reach this moment, and we need your help to keep this victory from being transformed into defeat by a single bill.

This fight is far from over.
