A bombshell U.S. Department of Education investigation has uncovered a major parental-rights fight inside four federally funded school districts.

Four Kansas school districts were taking millions in federal education money while maintaining policies that violated federal law and allowed schools to hide from parents their own child’s social “gender transition.”

And this was not the work of one rogue teacher. Instead, published policies told staff how to respond supportively when a child wanted to use a different name, false pronouns, or present as a different gender. And to hide this from parents.

This is not an isolated incident. Schools are intentionally indoctrinating students and concealing their gender confusion from parents.

If the “Equality Act” passes, it will increase this madness. The Equality Act will harm children and silence any opposition to the LGBTQ agenda.

If only a handful of Republicans breaks rank, this bill will pass. Contact Congress to stop the Equality Act.

Imagine a mother dropping her daughter off at school in the morning. She watches her walk through the doors believing that something good is happening in her life. And that if something bad happens — something affecting her identity, emotional health, or relationships — the adults responsible for her will not deliberately hide it.

But behind those doors, educators follow a different set of instructions. A different name. Different pronouns. Different guidance for staff — and Mom or Dad or Grandparents are kept in the dark.

Parents cannot address problems they do not know exist. If a child is bullied for a so-called gender transition, he or she cannot explain why they are bullied. Likewise, if they struggle with friendships, anxiety, body image, or are influenced by what they see or hear online — all while hiding the real problem from parents.

That is why this federal investigation instantly became so serious.

When the Department of Education confronted the four districts, Topeka ultimately entered into a resolution agreement requiring changes.

But Kansas City, Olathe, and Shawnee Mission school districts all refused the federal government’s proposed resolution. So, the United States government is moving forward with enforcement against the three remaining districts.

According to the Department of Education, Kansas’ employees were instructed that they “should not disclose information that may reveal a student’s transgender status or gender nonconforming presentation to others, including parents.”

Yes, “including parents.”

Parents are the people who best know the child’s history, who notice when something suddenly changes, and who are ultimately responsible for the child’s care. Yet under the policy challenged by federal authorities, they could be among the last people to know.

The underlying conflict is unmistakable: Who gets to know what is happening with a child — the school, the government, or the parents raising that child?

If the Equality Act passes, instead of the government standing up for parents' rights, it will attack parental rights with the full force of the federal government.

This bill would create serious conflicts between LGBTQ activism and student safety for public schools, religious schools, and faith-based organizations over gender identity, student conduct, bathrooms, locker rooms, athletics, and sex-specific policies.

It even states that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act cannot be used as a claim or defense against enforcement of covered provisions of the law.

God has woven into the very fabric of our being thousands and thousands of differences between men and women that scientists have already discovered. But our society is willing to lie to these children, profit off their confusion, and discard them if their personal experiences don’t match this radical political agenda.

We are providing critical information to muster opposition to the Equality Act on Capitol Hill. This work is vital to changing key legislators’ minds. I appreciate your prayers and your support.
